IK08 to IK11 Mechanical Impact Testing Equipment for Testing the Mechanical Strength of the Enclosure of EVCS
1. Introduction
The IK mechanical impact test apparatus is designed according to IEC62262, IEC60068-2-75 Test Eha and Test Ehc, and can meet the test requirements of IEC61851-1. As per the standard requirements, the external enclosure of EV supply equipment should withstand the IK08 and above mechanical impact tests. This equipment can perform both vertical and pendulum impact tests, that means both vertical surface and horizontal surface of EV supply equipment can be impacted.
This equipment consists by striking elements ( (5J/1.7kg*2, 10J/5kg*2, 20J/5kg*2, 50J/10KG*2), swing pipes, guideways and test rig. Striking elements work with swing pipes can perform IK08 to IK11 pendulum hammer impact tests. Striking elements work with guideways to perform IK07 to IK11vertical hammer impact tests. The test rig is made of aluminum alloy. With four wheels at the bottom, so that the whole device can move freely.

3. Frequently Asked Questions
1). What is 2 in 1?
Pego: this is a 2 in 1 equipment, can perform both vertical hammer test and pendulum hammer test. They share the same test rig, and work independently.
2). Why need 2 set of striking elements?
Pego: because the actual mass of striking element for pendulum impact test is not the same as the actual mass of striking element for vertical impact test. Equivalent mass of vertical hammer is equal to the actual mass of striking elements. Equivalent mass of pendulum hammer is composed by the actual mass of striking elements, mass of swing pipe and nuts and etc.. In addition, the vertical hammer and pendulum hammer has difference in appearance, see as below pictures.
3). Why need a 2 in 1 equipment?
Pego: the 2 in 1 equipment combines the vertical hammer and pendulum hammer in one equipment. In practise, the vertical hammer is used on the horizontal surface, and the pendulum hammer is used on the vertical surface. User do not need to turn over the specimen to impact different surfaces with this 2 in 1 equipment. In cases that the sample is too heavy to be turned over, the 2-in-1 device is more practical.
4). Do this equipment has function of secondary impact protection?
Pego: we take this as a optional feature, user can mention this function when make an enquiry. User can stop the secondary impact by hand, or install an electric braker to stop the secondary impact.
5). How to release the striking elements?
Pego: Electromagnetic release the veritcal hammer, and manual release the pendulum hammer.
