ISO 16750-4 Ice Water Shock Test Chamber for Testing the System or Component of Road Vehicle
1. Introduction
The ice water shock test chamber is designed to meet the test requirements of ISO16750-4 clause 5.4.2 and clause 5.4.3. The equipment can perform splash water test and submersion test separately. For splash water test, The DUT is placed on the heating chamber (RT +10℃~150℃), and heat it at Tmax for 1 hour (or until DUT temperature stabilization is reached), then use a jet to splash the DUT with cold water (0℃~+4℃) for 3s. The immersion tank (cold water tank) is under the heating chamber, when perform the submersion test, operate the DUT in the heating chamber at Tmax for 1 hour (or until DUT temperature stabilization is reached), with the device still operating, submerge it for 5min in cold water tank at a depth of ≥10mm.
The ice water shock test is to simulate a thermal shock induced by cold water and is applicable to products in the splash areas of the vehicle. The purpose is to simulate cold water splashing over a hot system or component, as can happen when a vehicle is driven on wet roads in winter. Failure modes are mechanical cracking of materials or seal failures caused by different temperture expansion coefficients. Splash water test and submersion test are two alternative methods for performing the ice water shock test.
2. Features

● The inner wall of the chamber are made by SUS316# stainless steel, to ensure rustless.
● Thermal insulation material: high-density glass fiber cotton to ensure thermal insulation performance and maintain a balanced and stable temperature in the chamber.
● Equip with a transparent observation window (multi-layer hollow tempered glass) and LED lighting on the door, which is convenient for observing the internal test situation
● The test hole (diameter 100mm) is installed on the left side of the device, which can be used for external test power lines or signal lines;
● Control components: 7 inch touch screen+ PLC. The electrical components are made by LS, Omron, etc. The wiring process meets the requirements of Chinese national standards, the layout of the electric board is reasonable, the wiring is firm, and the marking is clear.
● The refrigeration system of the equipment is installed at the bottom. The compressor adopts the French Taikang brand to ensure the cooling effect and reliability, the condensation method is air-cooled, and R404R environmentally friendly refrigerant is used. The entire system pipeline has passed the pressurized 48H leak test to confirm that the refrigeration system can operate stably for a long time. The casing heat exchanger is made of SUS316# stainless steel to prevent salt water corrosion;
● Ice water splash test: the nozzle is fixed on the right side of the test chamber; the spray distance is adjusted by moving the sample
● The slot Jet is made of SUS316, and strictly designed according to ISO16750-4 figure 4. The slot jet is datachable for cleaning.
● Submersion test: submersion test is not carried out simultaneously with the ice water splash test. The cylinder drives the chain to move up and down, and can be directly transferred from the test chamber to the immersion tank. The immersion time can be set at the range of 1 to 5 minutes, the number of cycles can be set from 1 to 999 times, and the temperature recovery time in the water tank is 30 minutes.

Pego: No, the shell of the chamber and the immersion tank are made of SUS316# stainless steel, compared with SUS304 stainless steel, material SUS316 is more corrosion-resistant.
