R200 to R1600 Oscillating Tube Testing Equipment for IPX3 and IPX4 Testing, to Verify the Enclosure of EV and its Accessories Against to Water Ingress 

1. Introduction:

R200 to R1600 oscillating tube testing equipment is designed according to IEC60529 clause 14.2.3 and 14.2.4 for IPX3 and IPX4 testing. The IPX4 test can apply to outdoor use vehicle connector, EV plug, EV socket-outlet, EV supply equipment enclosure and EV enclosure as per IEC61851 clause 12.4.2 and IEC62196-1 clause 20.2.

The equipment is integrated with oscillating tubes (R200 to R1600), turntable, double cloumn (integreted with water tank, control units, flowmeters, pressure gauge, water filter and etc). The oscillating tube can be replaced to fit with various of samples. 4 casters are placed on the bottom of the chasis to make it move easily.

For IPX4 test, the oscillating tube has spray holes over the whole 180’’ of the semicircle, the total flow rate is adjusted according to the standard requirement, and measured with a flowmeter. The tube is caused to oscillate through an angle of almost 360⁰, 180⁰ on either side of the vertical, and time for one complete oscillation (2*360⁰) being about 12s. The duration of the test is 10min.

● Oscillating tube drive: Adopts Panasonic serve motor, with features of low noise and high accuracy.

● Turntable drive: adopts Chinese branded step motor, can adjust the speed and angle by touch screen, and auto control the directions (fit for the samples to do live test).

● Control components: 7 inch touch screen+ Panasonic PLC.

● Preset IPX3 and IPX4 test procedures, users only need to select the waterproof level, and the equipment will perform the test in accordance with the standard requirements.

1). Can we select the radius of the oscillating tube?

Pego: Yes, user can only buy the desired oscillating tube. The equipment can configure with different radius of oscillating tube to adapt the sample. 

2). Is there any difference on the oscillating tube for IPX3 and IPX4 testing? 

Pego: Yes, as per the standard requirements: for IPX3 test, the oscillating tube has spray holes over an arc of 60° either side of the centre point; for IPX4 test, the oscillating tube has spray holes over the whole 180° of the semicircle. The oscillating tube designed by Pego can be used to perform IPX3 and IPX4 tests with the same oscillating tube, when perform IPX3 test, the rest nozzles will be blocked. 

3). Can we customize the bearing capacity of the turntable? 

Pego: Yes, the regular turntable can bear the samples with a weight less than 50KG, but we support the customize service.

4). What kind of water can be used? 

Pego: The purity water is recommended on prior, this will reduce the risk of nozzle clogging. But in practice, the tap water is used at most, the equipment configures 2 water filter. 

5). How is the stability of the double-column? 

Pego: Our design is stable enough, and the bottom of the two columns are equipped with wheels, which allows users to move the equipment freely. After the equipment is adjusted, lock the wheels and the feet cups will stabilize the equipment on a flat surface.

6). Can the water recycled? 

Pego: No, this is an open type equipment, the water cannot be recyled. But we have the chamber type equipment for option. 

7). Will you provide the on-site installation service? 

Pego: Actually, the equipment will no need on-site installation service.  The equipment will be shipped almost as a whole, user just need to make simple wiring connection when receive the goods. 

8). What is the warranty period? and how can we get the after-sales service? 

Pego: The warranty period is 12 months upon user receive the goods. 95% of after-sales problems can be solved by our engineer team through remote service. Customers will get a response within 24 hours in business day after reporting the problem. In our experience, most of the troublesome can be removed with the guidance of our engineer, only a small part of the troublesome are caused by parts failure, that is because we use the branded components, which have better performance and good reliability. If the parts damaged, we will a send a new for replace, the new parts will be charged for free within the warranty period. And also our eigneer team will teach how to replace the damaged parts.
